Here the why

Let's backtrack a little... while looking back at my blog a problem i encountered was that i didn't explain the reasoning behind why I chose the the genre psychological thriller to begin with. I went into extensive detail about the components of a psychological thriller but didn't go into details about why i chose it to begin with. Thrillers have always been my favorite type of movies because of their abilities to make the audience problem solve. While trying to back up my reasoning for picking a thriller i decided to research the target audience of the the thriller genre. 18-25 is the typical age for thrillers. This is why when it came to looking for people to feature in our film, we decided to look for older looking males that way the audience can relate more to the character. While also researching I came across this chart which revealed there is a skew of females when it comes to watching thrillers. This is the reasoning behind why we decided to feature a male as the main character, as males typically tend to grab a lot of female's attention. 

Understanding your target audience is vital when making a film opening, because this can influence a lot of choices in the film.
