Almost ready to get started

While meeting up with my group we thought it would be a great idea to create a schedule for our filming process, for everything to this process as organized as we possibly can.

Film Schedule
Monday March 20th
4:00-6:00 p.m

Friday March 23rd
12:00 pm- 3:00 p.m

Sunday March 26th
12:00 p.m- 3:00 p.m

Let's do a quick run-through on what our future plans are. On Monday, March 20th, after school we wanted to go to Paula's horseback riding ranch to scope out our location and talk to the owner of the abandoned house to see if we can obtain permission to film inside. On Friday March 23rd we want to commence filming and see how much we can get done and continue filming that Sunday on March 26th. After this we will see what we are missing, or what we need to fix and add more dates to our filming schedule from there.

One problem we have encountered from this planning process is finding a person to act in this film opening. I had recently had a person who i thought had fit the part perfectly until I found out he will be out of town the weekend we wanted to start filming. This put a lot of stress on our group, but we were determined to find a solution. We talked to two potential males and they both agreed to be featured in our film. Now the only question that's left is who from the two should we pick. I knew it was extremely important to pick the better actor from the two because I wanted to use the legendary Director Akira Kurosawa's movement of individuals technique. How did i stumble across this technique and this director you ask? You see in the very beginning of the year in Aice Media our teacher showed us a film titled How Legendary Director Akira Kurosawa Used Movement to Tell His Stories Visually. I found this video to be very insightful so I made sure to take extensive notes on this directors techniques on movement and found it while reading through my notes. Since we wanted the film opening to be a character development and revolve around one single character, I knew it would be a good idea to incorporate the brilliant Akira Kurosawa's technique of movement of individuals. We would use certain gestures for the character such as pacing back and forth in order to portray him feeling anxious. I felt this technique is the perfect way to display character development in this film opening and reveal more about the character, without much dialogue. This make the character almost an enigma, which the audience will want to crack and find out who he is and his background. Since we are using this technique in our film opening it is vital that we pick the right character who can display different emotions, and is able to display these emotions. My group and I need to be able to make a decision quick and pick who we want to be our character in this film if we want to stay on track and start filming by this Friday March 23rd.
